Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage

1. Can I use Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage for floors or ceilings?

It is not recommended to use these ranges on the ceiling as they may be too heavy (alternatively see our Ceilings section) or on the floor as it is not slip resistant.

2. Can Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage be applied directly to tiles?

Yes, provided they are sound. The Tile Range being lighter maybe more suitable for this application.

3. Can Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage be applied to plasterboard walls?

Yes, directly by adhesive or to sub-frames. 

4. Can I use Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage above 2400mm high?

Yes, by using a continuous ‘H’ joint extrusion or tongued and grooved short edges.

5. Can I order Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage laminate only?

Yes, depending on availability of stock.

6. Can I order Multipanel Linda Barker, Classic & Heritage in larger sizes than 2400mm x 1200mm?

No, this is the maximum size of the raw materials, but by using a continuous ‘H’ joint extrusion or Hydrolock tongued and grooved edges you can join the panels.

7. How do I clean Multipanel?

Multipanel should be cleaned with warm water and a non-abrasive mild detergent. Scouring powders or similar products should not be used.

8. What is the weight of Multipanel?

2400mm x 1200mm x 11mm panels weight approximately 20-25kg depending on the type of plywood used.

9. What is the warranty on Multipanel?

15 years from date of purchase, covering cracking, de-lamination and panels remaining watertight, if installed, sealed and maintained according to our published recommendations. 

10. What other colours are available to order?

Between our Linda Barker, Heritage and Classic Collections we have almost 100 designs, but if you have something specific in mind, let us know. We love a challenge!

11. Is the plywood core from a sustainable source and FSC certified?

Multipanel plywood wall panels from Linda Barker, Heritage and Classic Collections are certified under the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC). Our timber materials are procured from well-managed and sustainable sources. We care about our environment.

12. How do I fit grab rails and shower seats?

It is recommended that you fix through the panel into the wall behind for a secure fixing, and seal around all apertures. 

13. Are Multipanel upstands and downstands available in set sizes and colours?

Upstands and downstands are cut from standard Multipanel boards, so are available in all colours at a maximum size of 2400 x 1200mm.

Tile

1. Can I use Multipanel Tile for floors or ceilings?

It is not recommended to use Multipanel Tile on the ceiling as it maybe too heavy (alternatively see our Ceilings section) or on the floor as it is not slip resistant.

2. Can Multipanel Tile be applied directly to tiles?

Yes, provided they are sound.

3. Can Multipanel Tile be applied to plasterboard walls?

Yes, directly by adhesive or to sub-frames.

4. Can I use Multipanel Tile above 2400mm high?

Yes, by using a continuous 'H' joint extrusion. Alternatively we supply Maxi at 3050 x 1220 x 3mm.

5. Can I order Multipanel Tile in larger sizes than 2440mm x 1220mm?

No, this is the maximum size of the raw materials, but by using a continuous 'H' joint extrusion you can joint the panels. Alternatively we supply Maxi at 3050 x 1220 x 3mm.

6. How do I clean Multipanel Tile?

Multipanel Tile should be cleaned with warm water and a non-abrasive mild detergent. Scouring powders or similar products should not be used.

7. What is the weight of Multipanel Tile?

2440mm x 1220mm x 11mm panels weight approximately 15kg.

8. What is the warranty on Multipanel Tile?

1 year from date of purchase, covering cracking, de-lamination and panels remaining watertight, if installed, sealed and maintained according to our published recommendations.

9. What other colours are available to order?

There are no other colours available from stock.

Ceilings

1. Can I use this product on the walls?

It is not recommended to use the Multipanel Ceilings on the walls. We offer Tile and Maxi which are all more suitable for this application.

2. What is the fire rating of Multipanel Ceilings?

Class 1 surface spread of flame.

3. Are Multipanel Ceilings available without tongue and groove edges?

Tongue and groove edges are supplied as standard. Type K mid joints and Type P clip in trims can be used as a decorative alternative to T&G (in some cases it may be necessary to cut the tongue or groove off a Type K mid joint).

4. What is the maximum temperature of downlights?

Multipanel Ceilings should not be subjected to temperatures in excess of 60°c.

5. How do I clean my ceilings?

Ceilings should be wiped clean with a damp, clean cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.

6. How do I cut ceilings?

Multipanel Ceilings should be cut using a fine-tooth blade hand-saw, decorative face up.

7. Are other Maxi colours available to order?

Only 2 colours are available from stock. Other colours are available to order on a minimum order of 100 sheets and with a 14-week lead time.

8. What is the fire rating of Maxi?

Class 1 surface spread of flame.

9. Can I order black, gold or chrome extrusions for Maxi?

Yes, but these colours are only held in stock in 2500mm lengths.

10. How do I clean Maxi?

Maxi should be wiped clean with a damp, clean cloth and a mild, non-abrasive detergent.

11. How do I cut Maxi?

Power saw with fine tooth blade – decorative face down.

Handsaw with fine tooth blade – decorative face up.

12. How do I fit panels at 45°?

Fix 2 Type Q End Caps to the edge of each panel, butt together at 45° and apply silicone sealant between the profiles and the wall line.

Floors

1. Are Multipanel Floors suitable for wetroom installations?

The Multipanel Stick and Click Flooring is not suitable for wetroom installations. However, the Multipanel Wetflor range is specifically designed for wetrooms. Take a look at the Wetflor range here.

2. Can I use Multipanel Floors on stairs?

No.

3. Are Multipanel Floors suitable for application over underfloor heating?

Yes, so long as the temperature does not exceed 30°c.

4. Can I replace damaged sections of the floor?

Yes, individual planks, tiles or sections can be cut out and replaced using double-sided tape.

5. How do I cut the floor?

Score the face firmly with a Stanley knife against a straight edge, and snap apart.

6. Can I install Multipanel Floors over carpet?

No. It is only suitable for application over flat smooth surfaces.

7. Will the glue strip dry out?

Once installed the glue strip will not dry out. If however the flooring is left out of its packaging prior to installation, the glue strip may be affected. IMPORTANT - Multipanel Floors should not be stored in cold conditions - refer to installation instructions for further details.

8. How do I cut round pedestals and shapes?

Applying a blast of heat from a hairdryer will soften the vinyl, facilitating cutting. TIP - use the protective paper as a template.

9. Are Multipanel Floors affected by sunlight?

Over many years of exposure to direct sunlight the exposed area may discolour slightly. The glue strip will not be affected so long as it is not subjected to temperatures in excess of 43°C/110°F.
