If you’re planning a bathroom renovation this year, you want to know the latest style trends. The new year gives an opportunity to breathe some new life into your bathroom and I am here to share my top bathroom trends for 2019 with you, so you can have a beautiful bathroom that lasts.

One of the top bathroom design trends for this year are marble decors. Our Calacatta Marble panels are proving to be a great success. It’s hardly surprising as the panels are as beautiful as the actual natural stone.  A classic, creamy looking marble full of rich grey veining creates a stunning backdrop for an elegant bathroom.

Calacatta Marble wall panels are very adaptable and can be teamed with almost any colour of paint you choose to use in your bathroom; naturally, greys will work, but so too will on-trend emerald green, blush (millennial) pink and of course white.

Lots of companies launch their style predictions at this time of year and I’m always interested to see their forecasts. There’s a real 1970s influence leading the design charge right now. Spice and ginger colours are dominating the new paint palettes and are my next bathroom design trend for this year. I must admit to finding these colours a little challenging at first but I’m coming round to the 70s chic look.

After all, there’s been a renaissance for both the 70s teak sideboard and vintage light fittings over the last few years so I’m thinking that this new trend is just an extension of that. My Elemental Corten Steel (pictured below) and fossilised wood (Dolce Macchiato) shower panels could be great influences here. Add some macramé hanging baskets and a Swiss cheese plant to your bathrooms to fully embrace the vibe.

Geometric tiles and velvet furnishings could be considered as key components of the 70s look too - and both have had devotees for the last couple of years - but they are taking on a stronger role now and are much more powerful influencers of interior trends

Following that 70s retro look into the bathroom, large round mirrors and brass taps offer us some lovely details and I think both are here to stay for the long term.

Finally, one trend that should never go out of style is sustainability. My own range from Multipanel along with the Classic and Heritage ranges, are FSC certified (FSC® C128180) and committed to minimising the environmental impact. If you have a choice, why not choose a sustainable product like Multipanel bathroom wall panels.

I’d love to hear how you get on with your bathroom makeover – so do drop me a line and maybe share a photo or two showing your fantastic bathroom transformation.
