21st April 2020 - Multipanel Announce Partial Restart of Operatations from Monday 27th April
Firstly, I hope that you, your colleagues, and your families and friends, are safe and well as we all continue to adapt to this new way of living and working.
At Grant Westfield we have been adapting our ways of working and I wanted to share with you what we have been doing and our plans from here.
Following the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19) our priority continues to be the health and well-being of colleagues, customers, suppliers and stakeholders. In line with our commitment to follow the advice of Government at the earliest opportunity we put in place appropriate measures throughout our operations to help prevent the spread of the virus.
On 24 March, we took the decision to temporarily cease manufacturing and most other daily operations, a decision which we believe was the right thing to do at the time. In the weeks which followed were able to support a small number of essential projects in the healthcare sector and were delighted to be able to do this.
Whilst the majority of our colleagues have been on furlough leave receiving 100% pay, we have deployed a small team supporting customer queries and dealing with the tasks essential to key stakeholders and to our future, notably payment of salaries, payments to suppliers and developing new standard operating procedures (SOPs). These new SOPs enable future working practices in strict adherence to the government Covid-19 guidelines, meeting the minimum distancing measures of 2m that we all need to follow and are the foundation of our “Restart Strategy”.
Supporting this strategy is an operationally bespoke Covid-19 training programme. Completion of this programme will be compulsory for every colleague ahead of their return to onsite operational roles. The training programme goes live this week and ahead of a partial restart of all operations week commencing 27 April.
Our continued investment in leading edge systems and technologies enabled colleagues who could work from home to do so at the earliest opportunity until placed on furlough leave. This means our Customer Service, Sales, Finance, Procurement, Operations, Marketing, HR and Learning & Development teams are able to work from home as and when required and for as long as will be necessary, attending sites only when there is a specific need to do so.
After careful consideration and in line with customer feedback, we will be purging our system and issuing cancellation notices for all undelivered orders received up to and including 26 April 2020. These notices will be emailed to your usual order acknowledgement email address and will detail the reorder process to follow.
Until further notice and to ensure the safety of our colleagues and yours, deliveries will be restricted to merchant/retail branches only and site deliveries will not be undertaken. Estimated delivery dates will be advised on order acknowledgements and confirmed as soon as possible thereafter. Our Customer Service team will be available from 9:00am on the 27 April to support you with any queries or questions you may have.
There is no doubt the coming weeks will be challenging, but by working together, we can ensure the safety of our colleagues and communities while helping our local economies and tradespeople get back on track.
We are looking forward to serving you safely from next week. Thank you for your continued support.

3rd April 2020
As the Covid-19 situation continues to challenge us all, the health and safety of our colleagues and customers remains our top priority. As we continue to support the NHS in its fight against coronavirus, we wanted to let you know that the temporary suspension of our operations, which we implemented on the 24th March, remains in place.
As a result of the Government advice to limit movement of people and our suspension of operations, with effect from 6 April and in line with the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme, we are implementing furlough arrangements.
As a nation we are all in this together and at Grant Westfield, owners of Multipanel. we are committed to supporting our employees throughout this challenging period by ensuring that all employees continue to receive 100% pay.
Whilst we are not operational, to support customers we have a member of our sales team in each region to assist where they can – or simply just to say hello!

26th March 2020
On Monday evening, the Prime Minister announced a nationwide lockdown to slow the spread of COVID-19 and to protect our NHS. This is a clear ‘stay at home’ message confirming that people will only be allowed to leave their home for limited purposes.
Therefore, to protect the wellbeing of our staff and customers, we have taken the decision to suspend manufacturing and distribution with immediate effect.
This means that we are currently not delivering goods or accepting new orders.
All orders are now on hold, and our Customer Service, Sales and Marketing teams remain on hand to support with queries.
As the situation changes, we will provide further updates.
Please keep yourself and your family safe at this time as we work together to beat the pandemic.
We thank you for your continued support during these unprecedented times.
